BJP finds one date, three campaigns
The party is using September 17 to press its textbook demand while attacking the Congress government over fee reimbursement and crop insurance. The BRS remains ahead of the BJP on the evidence available, whatever the parade-ground messaging says.

The Telangana BJP is using September 17 to build a larger political campaign around Hyderabad’s 1948 integration, school textbooks and two unfinished state issues: fee reimbursement and crop insurance. The calendar has acquired several owners; history, apparently, must now share space with college dues and tractors.
BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao and Union ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar have demanded that the Telangana liberation struggle, Operation Polo and “Hyderabad Liberation Day” be included in textbooks. The BJP has also announced a seminar, cultural programmes, a paramilitary parade and a book release. The exact proposed textbook wording, classes and curriculum are not public. The Union government has confirmed that Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan will attend the September 17 ceremony at Secunderabad Parade Ground. The BJP is using the occasion to attack the Congress government over fee-reimbursement dues and crop-insurance implementation. The BJP has claimed Rs 15,000 crore in fee-reimbursement arrears; the government says it is paying in Rs 200-crore instalments and has withheld payments to some colleges under scrutiny. Neither side has published a complete reconciliation in the material reviewed.
The BJP’s louder presence is a claim to opposition space, not proof that it has displaced the BRS. Harish Rao says the BRS remains ahead in raising issues in the Assembly. For now, September 17 is carrying a textbook demand, a dues campaign and a crop-insurance protest. The Congress government has not made the arithmetic any clearer.
