Box office says one thing: nobody agrees
Three films, three live estimates and no audited settlement in sight. The numbers are moving; the certainty is mostly marketing.
Competing estimates continue to circulate without an audited settlement.
The Telugu box office has produced its most reliable sequel: competing numbers.
TrackTollywood’s live tracker put Epic at ₹5.23 crore India gross by the afternoon of September 14, with day four still running. It listed ₹2.37 crore from Telangana cumulatively, including ₹85.24 lakh on day one. That is a long way from the unconfirmed ₹1.10 crore Telangana figure circulating elsewhere.
The same tracker listed Mahendragiri Varahi at ₹2.20 crore, with ₹1.96 crore after three completed days. Sardar 2 stood at ₹14.16 crore, with day five still running, against ₹13.28 crore after four completed days. These are tracker estimates, not audited producer or distributor statements.
Epic also has a reported ₹2.10 crore opening-day estimate attributed to another tracking service. The figures do not agree, and no producer, distributor, exhibitor settlement or industry-body filing found in this research settles the argument. Until that happens, “collected” is doing more work than the evidence allows. The only thing with a confirmed opening is the race to publish a number.
