BRS asks DGP to investigate disputed Assembly images
The party says the photographs are AI-generated; the CMO says they are real. No forensic report has settled the matter.

BRS legislators have asked Telangana Law and Order DGP Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat to investigate photographs linked to the September 7 Assembly-gate confrontation, alleging that the images were fake, morphed or AI-generated. The representation was reportedly submitted on September 9 by MLAs Devireddy Sudheer Reddy, Bandaru Laxma Reddy and Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, along with MLC S. Madhusudhana Chary.
BRS sought a cybercrime probe, forensic examination and preservation of digital evidence, and action against those who created, uploaded or circulated the material. K. T. Rama Rao called the photographs “AI-generated fake images” and alleged they were released by the Congress government to divert attention from the confrontation. That motive, and any Congress role in creating or circulating the images, has not been independently established.
The Congress government’s account is no cleaner. A reported CMO response said the photographs were real but had been shared unofficially with reporters; the Information and Public Relations Department said it had not issued them. No police acknowledgement, case number or forensic assessment has been published. For now, BRS has filed a complaint, the CMO has offered a counter-claim, and the pixels remain witnesses nobody has examined.
