Council blocks questions, Congress calls it procedure

The Telangana Legislative Council chose Question Hour on Thursday after Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy rejected a BRS adjournment motion seeking discussion on the Tesseract land allotment. BRS members raised slogans for about half an hour before walking out. The land file, meanwhile, stayed outside the chamber.
BRS members alleged that about 20,234 square metres at Raviryala, Maheshwaram, was allotted to Tesseract Advanced Systems Private Limited for roughly Rs 7 crore, against a claimed value of Rs 100 crore to Rs 200 crore. Those figures are allegations; the allotment order and valuation report have not been published in the material reviewed. The party also alleged a connection between the company and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s brother, Anumula Kondal Reddy.
Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu denied any connection, saying the allotment followed prescribed procedures and was approved by the Consultative Committee on Electronics System Design & Manufacturing. Tesseract has also said it followed official guidelines and paid the required TGIIC fees. Reports have cited public references suggesting an association involving Kondal Reddy, but its legal nature remains unestablished. Congress has supplied denials; the government has not supplied the underlying file. The adjournment was easier to reject than the questions.
