Future City gets a scarf, farmers get paperwork
A video-backed report says an Ibrahimpatnam farmer threatened self-harm over alleged land acquisition. The project is documented; his parcel’s legal status is not.

A farmer in Ibrahimpatnam allegedly threatened self-harm inside a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation bus over the reported acquisition of his land for the Future City project, according to a September 28 report and an associated video. The footage appears to show him tying a scarf around his neck while a police officer tries to calm him. He is heard saying, “My land is being taken away; what will I live for? Leave me.”
The farmer has not been publicly identified, and the material reviewed does not establish his village, survey number, land extent, the police response or whether he suffered any injury. No official confirmation from the police, TGSRTC or district administration was located. Their responses were not publicly available.
The Future City Development Authority is officially responsible for planning and executing Bharat Future City. Government Order 69, dated March 12, 2025, places the proposed area at 765.28 sq km across 56 revenue villages. The government has promised compensation and jobs, which is reassuring in the same way a brochure is reassuring. It does not show whether this farmer received either. The relevant acquisition notification and compensation record remain unpublished in the material reviewed.
