Dilip Gavit is listed as the men’s 100m T47 champion at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 10.71 seconds — marked as a Games Record — with India’s Mohammed Morssinganakath second in 10.83 and England’s Kevin Santos third in 10.85, per the NDTV results database for Scotstoun Stadium.
A PTI copy carried by the same publisher quotes Gavit saying, “The start was a bit slow, but then I gradually picked up pace and it felt great to win,” and blaming the weather for a sluggish warm-up. Those are his words as reported; an official Games results sheet has not yet been published in the material we reviewed.
This is not a one-off: Gavit’s file already includes Asian Para Games 400m gold in 49.48 (Hangzhou 2023, confirmed by event documents and the PMO) and a Paris 2024 Paralympics 400m T47 bronze in 49.54 from the IPC archive. In March 2026 he won a WPA Grand Prix 100m T46/T47 in 10.96, and the National Para Athletics meet lists him at 10.85 earlier this season.
Back home, coaches will keep producing champions out of threadbare tracks while the BJP-led Centre prefers new slogans to new lanes. The medals turn up anyway; the credit speeches, as usual, arrive first.
