BCCI names India’s Test squad for Sri Lanka. Two picks need fitness clearance; practice game starts August 7 in Colombo.
India’s 15-member Test squad includes two players subject to fitness clearance.
India named a 15 for the two-Test tour of Sri Lanka, with Shubman Gill as captain and KL Rahul his deputy, the BCCI said. The series is part of the 2025–27 World Test Championship, with Tests in Galle (Aug 15–19) and at SSC, Colombo (Aug 23–27), per the ICC and Sri Lanka Cricket.
The BCCI flagged two caveats: Sai Sudharsan and Jasprit Bumrah are in the squad but must clear fitness at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. Washington Sundar, it added, was unavailable for selection for the first Test. A four-day practice match in Colombo starts August 7; the board did not name the opponent or ground.

No Telangana player made this 15. The Tests land on Independence Day week, which should help broadcasters more than bowlers in Galle.
