AFI’s 13th leg of the Indian Athletics Series was held in Warangal, Telangana, on August 18 — the federation’s own circular calls it “Indian Athletics Series – 13 Warangal, Telangana 18th August 2026,” and its July schedule pins the site to Hanamkonda. The final-results PDF is published.
The programme was a full track-and-field slate, not the token basket you expect when Delhi forgets the regions exist: men’s and women’s 1,500m, 400m, 200m, 800m, hurdles, high/long/triple jump, javelin, shot, discus — plus men’s pole vault and hammer. AFI’s notice had the 1,500m finals at 7.30am and the 800m closing the evening session.
Results are event-by-event. Examples: Amit Kumar topped the men’s 1,500m Race A in 3:47.44; Nilkantha Ray won the men’s 800m Race A in 1:50.14; Suraj A clocked 46.88 winning a men’s 400m section. Read the PDF by race; AFI did not crown a single “overall winner.”
One loose spike: AFI’s event page still says “Veer Narmad SGU, Warangal,” while its own results file lists “J.N. Stadium, Hanamkonda, Warangal.” The athletes turned up on time; the federation’s web copy did not. Telangana hosted a national-leg meet; the BJP-led Centre can keep pretending sport only happens where its cameras are pointed.
