Hyderabad crawls; rain gets the blame
A report says day two of heavy rain slowed key stretches across the city, with waterlogging near ongoing works. The numbers are the report’s — agencies have not published theirs.

Rain kept Hyderabad on a slow boil for a second straight day, with a report describing long delays across the IT corridor and beyond. According to that account, traffic was sluggish or jammed at Hi‑Tech City, Gachibowli, Madhapur, the Financial District, IKEA Junction, Kondapur–Kothaguda, Hafeezpet, Miyapur, IIIT Junction, Khajaguda and on the Shamshabad–ORR route. The same report says several stretches saw two–three‑hour delays, and private buses towards ORR and the airport ran three–four hours late. Those figures are the outlet’s; the traffic police have not published timings or counts to match them.
The piece also attributes to a press release — not linked — that HYDRAA’s Disaster Response Force and MRT teams cleared water, cut fallen branches, helped people across flooded streets and even pulled a cow out of a drain in Neredmet. HYDRAA has previously said DRF/MRT teams would be on monsoon duty, and GHMC keeps a standing list of waterlogging points and diversions. What we don’t have yet: July 28–29 rainfall totals, an official incident tally, or a project note on the flyover/underpass works at IIIT–Khajaguda where water stagnation was reported.
Hyderabad shows up, clears water and gets moving again. Delhi shows up when there’s a ribbon. The BJP‑led Centre hasn’t built a single drain here; it will still take credit when the sun comes out.
