Hyderabad gets a flyover tender, not a flyover

HMDA has invited bids for an elevated corridor linking the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre in Banjara Hills with Shilpa Layout Flyover Road. The project is at the procurement stage. No contractor award, work order or construction start has been established in the records reviewed.

HMDA’s tender page confirms the project title. A tender listing identifies the notice as HMDA/DEV/CE/15/2026-27 and gives October 5, 2026 as the bid deadline, though other reports cite September 22. The live official notice should settle that small but useful detail before anyone starts celebrating the ribbon-cutting.

The corridor is commonly described as about 9 km. The reported cost is less tidy: one report cites ₹1,656 crore, while another gives ₹1,334.87 crore. Neither figure was confirmed from the accessible official tender document or BOQ. The tender’s delivery period, alignment, land requirements and contract model are also not established.

For now, Hyderabad has a real tender. The Congress and BJP leaders who routinely turn announcements into infrastructure theatre may take notes: this one has not even reached the stage where a contractor can be blamed for the delay.
