Hyderabad’s cleanliness drive leaves the numbers uncleaned
A report says PIB, CBC and CRPF personnel joined Swachhata Hi Seva activities in Hyderabad. The record does not say how much was cleaned.
The Hyderabad drive was reported, but its event-specific figures were not.
Officials and personnel from the Press Information Bureau, Central Bureau of Communication and Central Reserve Police Force were reported to have joined Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 activities in Hyderabad on October 1, including a drive at CGO Towers, Kavadiguda. The report also mentions awareness activity and plantation work. It does not provide the number of participants, the area cleaned, the waste removed or the number of saplings planted. (Deccan Chronicle)
The Union government’s campaign ran from September 17 to October 2 under the theme “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat”, with October 1 set aside for “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath”. Its official framework refers to waste removal, beautification and sustained maintenance of public places. (PIB)
That is the national template. For Hyderabad, the public record currently offers a reported event and no event-specific government release, attendance list, waste figure or follow-up date. CGO Towers hosted a similar PIB-CBC programme in 2025, when an official described cleanliness as a continuous responsibility. (PIB) The “continuous” part remains the bit requiring evidence.
