Metro–RTC pass: ordered first, details later

Telangana officially ordered a common Metro–RTC pass on September 6. A report now says it is live, but the fare and operating rules remain unpublished.

At a Hyderabad Metro station, a commuter holds a blank travel card beside a ticket machine with no price, while a locked cabinet hides a fare table and a Metro train and city bus sit behind a ribbon marked ordered and launched.

The common Metro–RTC pass was ordered and reportedly introduced, but its fare and operating rules remain unpublished.

Hyderabad’s common Metro–RTC pass has reached the familiar public-services stage: officially ordered, reportedly launched, and still missing the details passengers need.

An HMRL release dated September 6 says Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju directed officials to introduce daily and monthly joint passes. L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail and TGSRTC said they were technically ready, but the same release said the joint fare structure still had to be finalised. (HMRL)

A report published on October 1 says the pass has since been introduced and is available at all Hyderabad Metro stations. It also reports coverage of city buses within the ORR and exclusion of Pushpak services. Those operating details, along with the fare, have not been independently confirmed in the official material available. The government-linked MeeTicket app exists and supports transport ticketing in principle, but its listing does not confirm the full common-pass system. (Google Play)

So the documented position is simple: Telangana ordered the pass, officials said the systems were ready, and the public is now expected to discover the price and rules by osmosis. The fare table is still waiting for its own launch.
