Hyderabad’s elevated corridors get another inspection
The Dairy Farm Road arm has reported construction, but land, clearances and a current deadline remain unresolved.

Hyderabad’s proposed twin elevated corridors have reached the stage familiar to large infrastructure projects: some concrete, some paperwork and another inspection. Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju reviewed the Paradise–Dairy Farm Road NH-44 corridor and the Paradise–Shamirpet–ORR SH-1 corridor on September 6, according to a report by India Live. Officials were directed to accelerate land acquisition, utility shifting, inter-departmental coordination and statutory clearances. (India Live)
The ₹5,750-crore twin project is therefore not merely at the proposal stage. A July report recorded 18 foundations, 18 piers, six pier caps and 33 girders on parts of the NH-44 arm, while noting that construction was proceeding where land was available. What the September inspection did not announce was a fresh sanction, a new deadline or a consolidated progress update. The 18-month completion target reported earlier has not been publicly re-established, and the current status of the Shamirpet–ORR arm remains unclear. For now, Hyderabad has concrete on one arm and paperwork on both.
