HYDRAA readies 394 swimmers for two-day immersion

HYDRAA says it has kept 394 trained swimmers, 51 Disaster Response Force teams and 21 bike-borne teams ready for Ganesh immersions across 103 water bodies on September 25 and 26. The figures come from agency briefing-based reports, not a published deployment order or site-wise roster.
At Hussain Sagar, HYDRAA says 50 swimmers will work in each shift. It also lists six boats, with additional boats expected from the Telangana Tourism Department. Commissioner A.V. Ranganath reviewed the arrangements, while Additional Director Varla Papaiah was quoted as saying the swimmers would remain alert in water bodies and nearby areas.
The preparation covers the GHMC, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation and Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation limits, according to the reports. What remains unpublished is rather important: the 103-site list, site-wise staffing, shift details, equipment locations, response-time targets and whether the 394 swimmers are physically deployed or merely on standby. The number is announced; the roster is still missing.
