HYDRAA’s 2,150 acres remain a figure without a file
The agency’s portal lists big totals for reclaimed land, monitored lakes and protected parks, but no dated site-wise register or audit to show what sits behind them.

HYDRAA’s official portal currently claims more than 2,150 acres reclaimed, over 250 lakes monitored, more than 90 parks protected and 10,000-plus helpline calls. The figures are useful — Telangana’s public assets need protection — but the portal offers no dated, site-wise register, survey numbers, methodology or independent audit behind them.
The portal identifies HYDRAA as a Telangana government agency under the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department, responsible for protecting lakes, parks, nalas, playgrounds and government land. It lists its jurisdictional bodies as GHMC, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation and Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation. The figures, however, arrive as a dashboard and leave as a question mark.
A review of HYDRAA’s official news, publications and government-orders pages found no fresh dated release or court order verifying an additional asset-protection operation between September 28 and September 30, 2026. A published report separately cited HYDRAA’s claim of 3,325 acres reclaimed over two years, while the portal says 2,150-plus acres. Different dates or definitions may explain the gap; HYDRAA has not published enough paperwork to explain it itself.
The Congress government has supplied the numbers. The file behind them is still taking the scenic route.
