The India Meteorological Department’s Hyderabad centre has put Telangana under a heavy-rain warning for July 28 and July 29, with thunderstorms, lightning and strong surface winds also listed for both days, according to the IMD’s sub-division bulletin dated July 28.
A report says 16 districts are under a “heavy rainfall alert” in the 64.5–115.5 mm range, and lists the rest for thunderstorms, lightning and gusts. That district-wise split is reported; the IMD’s public sub-division page confirms the state-level warning but does not display the district list in the captured view.
For residents, the actionable part does not change: expect heavy rain today and tomorrow with thunder, lightning and strong surface winds. The IMD’s colour code and wind-speed range were not published on the consulted page. Telangana’s disaster-management advisories for this spell were not on record there either.
