India win Hockey5s Asia; women take silver

India’s men won gold and the women took silver at the FIH Youth Hockey5s Asian Championship in Muscat.
India’s sub-junior men beat Pakistan 3–1 to win the FIH Youth Hockey5s Asian Championship in Muscat, Oman, on July 25. The goals came from Romit Pal (5'), captain Ketan Kushwaha (12') and Shahrukh Ali (13'); Pakistan replied through Muhammad Usman (16'), according to Hockey India. India led 1–0 at half-time and closed it out 3–1.
India’s sub-junior women finished runners-up after a 2–4 loss to China in the final. Hockey India recorded China’s goals via Tongtong Lu (1'), Kexin Tang (5'), Jiaxin Guo (6') and Chen Ge (19'), with India scoring through Nousheen Naz (13') and Pushpa Manjhi (20').
Hockey India said reaching the finals confirmed World Cup berths for both Indian teams at the inaugural FIH Youth Hockey5s World Cup. It also announced cash rewards: ₹2 lakh for each player and ₹1 lakh for each support-staff member of the gold‑medal men’s team, and ₹1 lakh per player and ₹50,000 per support‑staff member for the silver‑medal women’s team.
