Inorbit crash: 150 kmph claim still needs proof

Police have identified Lingamaneni Sanjush, 21, as the driver in the August 16 fatal crash near Inorbit Mall in Madhapur that killed Bharati Mukhi, 26, a Lifestyle store employee. Madhapur police registered Crime No. 1238/2026 under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The Aston Martin was seized, CCTV footage was collected and the vehicle was sent for inspection.

Sanjush, the son of Andhra Pradesh Rajya Sabha member Lingamaneni Ramesh, was issued a notice under Section 35 of the BNSS instead of being arrested at that stage. Police said preliminary alcohol and drug tests were negative and that blood samples were sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory. Sanjush has said he did not flee, helped take Mukhi to hospital and later went to the police station. That is his version, not an independently established sequence.

The widely repeated claim that the car was travelling above 150 kmph remains unproved. Police have said CCTV shows a speeding vehicle, but DCP Ritiraj said the exact speed will be established through the investigation. The MVI, forensic and other reports are still pending. The case has facts, questions and one very confident speed figure that has yet to meet the evidence.
