KTR asks for judge; police case stays separate
KTR has alleged an assault on two aides and sought a sitting-judge inquiry. Separately, the Telangana High Court has protected them from arrest in an Assembly-related case.
The allegation awaits verification; the Assembly-related case proceeds under interim protection.
BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao has demanded an inquiry by a sitting judge into what he alleges was an attack on his media coordinator Manikya Mahesh and personal assistant Kumbala Mahender Reddy. KTR alleged that 15 people entered a police station and assaulted the two men, and held Chief Minister and Home Minister A. Revanth Reddy responsible. Those claims have not been independently confirmed by a police statement, FIR, medical record or CCTV evidence reviewed for this report.
There is a separate, documented legal thread. Saifabad police registered Crime No. 371/2026 over an alleged September 7 confrontation involving police personnel and Assembly marshals. The Telangana High Court has directed police not to take coercive action, including arrest, against Mahesh and Mahender Reddy while allowing the investigation to continue; the next hearing was listed for September 21. A police notice reported in connection with that case cited Sections 132, 352 and 351(2), read with Section 3(5), of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The available material does not establish whether the alleged station assault is connected to that case. The Congress government has yet to publicly answer KTR’s allegations, while the paperwork currently confirms only the Assembly-related case and interim protection.
