KTR sets September 14 water deadline
The BRS working president has warned of a Kodad–Haliya padayatra if the Telangana government does not publish a Nagarjuna Sagar Left Canal release schedule. The deadline’s outcome remains unconfirmed.

BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao has given the Congress government in Telangana until September 14 to publish a water-release schedule for the Nagarjuna Sagar Left Canal. The schedule, he said, must state when water will reach farmers and how many irrigation turns they will receive. A date and a number: apparently still too much to ask of a water department.
Speaking at a BRS farmers’ maha dharna in Miryalaguda on September 3, KTR said he would lead a padayatra from Kodad to Haliya with thousands of farmers if the schedule was not announced. He also issued a direct warning to Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, saying the minister was responsible for providing water through the left canal.
The reports reviewed do not establish whether the schedule was issued, whether water entered the canal, or whether the proposed march began. No official release order, canal schedule or response from the Telangana Irrigation Department, Uttam Kumar Reddy, the project authorities or the district administration was located in the public material reviewed. The Congress government has had until today to answer. Its paperwork remains less visible than its deadline.
