A cricket scoreboard showing 124 runs and a total beyond 10,880 pushes aside an older 10,868 record plaque, while an unidentifiable batter stands in a floodlit stadium.

Mandhana’s 124 took her international tally beyond Mithali Raj’s record.

Smriti Mandhana has taken Mithali Raj’s record, and did it with the subtlety of 14 fours and seven sixes.

Mandhana scored 124 from 64 balls against Hong Kong, China in the Women’s Asia Cup in Dubai on September 3, 2026. India made 193/5 in 20 overs before dismissing Hong Kong for 56 in 16.2 overs, winning by 137 runs, according to the ICC.

The innings took Mandhana to 10,880 international runs across formats, 12 ahead of Raj’s 10,868. The ICC said it also brought Mandhana her 18th international century, moving her past Meg Lanning’s previous mark. Raj congratulated her in a public post, calling the achievement “a moment I’m genuinely proud of”.

Mandhana said she had not known all the records had fallen. She did know she enjoyed batting. That appears to be working.
