The project’s next deliverables remain the land map, compensation formula and rehabilitation plan.

The Musi Riverfront project has reached the stage where the government is instructing officials to prepare the instructions. At an August 25 review meeting, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy called for expedited land acquisition, a clear land-pooling policy and procedures covering FTL areas, buffer zones and assigned lands. The State Portal published the account on August 27. (Telangana State Portal)

That is an administrative direction, not evidence that acquisition has begun. The consulted official records do not show acquisition notifications, identified survey numbers, compensation terms, rehabilitation arrangements or a final count of affected families. They also do not show that Phase 2 construction has started. The government has asked officials to call Phase-2 tenders at the earliest; a tender being issued is not recorded in the material reviewed.

MRDCL’s 2024 planning document covers about 57.5 km of the Musi within the Outer Ring Road and proposes parks, walkways, commercial spaces and a mobility corridor. It also says stakeholder and citizen consultation will shape the project. (MRDCL master plan) The next document citizens need is therefore not another vision statement. It is the land map, compensation formula and rehabilitation plan. So far, the Congress government has supplied the instruction to prepare them, and not the things themselves.
