Nizam breaks even; box office still needs arithmetic
Trade reports place The Paradise among the stronger performers in Telangana, but the film’s wider theatrical recovery remains unsettled.
Trade estimates put Nizam at break-even; the wider theatrical picture remains unsettled.
Telangana appears to be the bright spot in The Paradise’s first week, even if the box-office spreadsheets are still arguing among themselves.
Trade reports estimate that the Nani-starrer reached distributor break-even in Nizam within seven days against reported rights of ₹35 crore, including GST. A later estimate put Nizam’s gross at ₹53.5 crore and said the film had achieved break-even in Telangana and Karnataka, while Andhra Pradesh and other territories still needed sustained collections. The ₹35 crore figure and the break-even claim have not been backed by a public settlement statement from Mythri Movie Distributors.
The worldwide totals are less cooperative: reports cite ₹145 crore, ₹150.25 crore, ₹150.50 crore and ₹154.80 crore over roughly the same period. The makers separately claimed ₹155 crore. Different trackers and cut-off times may explain the spread, but no audited theatrical filing settles it. Telangana’s performance looks strong; overall profitability remains unproven. The numbers have reached break-even only in the sense that they have stopped agreeing with one another.
