The alliance that exists mainly in Congress speeches

At a Kochi event, KTR rejected speculation of a BRS-BJP tie-up. The public record contains denials and political claims, but no evidence of current negotiations.

An empty folder marked “ALLIANCE” sits beneath two microphones, one projecting a large “RUMOUR” speech balloon and the other a smaller “DENIAL” balloon.

The proposed alliance remains unsupported by a document.

The BRS-BJP alliance has so far achieved its most reliable form in Congress speeches. At the India Today Conclave South in Kochi on September 30, BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao rejected the speculation and said the two parties had never formed an alliance.

“2014, 2018, 2023 — we fought alone,” KTR said. He added that the BRS had “never had truck with BJP” in its 26-year history and called the idea of an alliance “absurd”. “Ideologically, we are poles apart,” he said.

The speculation has been fuelled by Congress allegations, political defections and earlier public statements, according to a report cited in the research. But no evidence of private negotiations is established here. KTR’s remarks record the BRS leader’s public position; they do not prove that future arrangements are impossible. The BJP has also issued earlier denials, but no fresh response to KTR’s September 30 remarks was located.

For now, the alliance remains a prediction with no document attached. Congress has supplied the rumour; the record has supplied the denial.
