TGSPDCL has listed an “Additional Surcharge Filings for H2 of FY 2026-27” notice. The utility has not publicly exposed the proposed rate, calculation or regulatory status in the material available so far. The paperwork exists; the bill shock does not—at least not on this evidence.
The earlier H1 process shows what this means. TGERC approved Rs 0.13 per kWh for eligible open-access consumers after TGDISCOMs sought Rs 0.59 per kWh. The charge is meant for open-access users procuring power through alternate sources while using the distribution network, not automatically for every TGSPDCL household. Green-energy open-access sales were excluded from the H1 calculation.
Separately, TGSPDCL listed transformer-capacity augmentation works at Kandikal Gate and Road No. 13 substations on September 24. The listings do not establish that the works are funded by, or connected to, the surcharge filing. For now, the only confirmed addition is another filing—not another charge on every home.
