Only one result we can stand on
Rishikanta Singh’s silver is on the record. The rest of India’s ‘Day 4’ claims need the actual sheets.
One medal is confirmed; the rest await the official sheets.
India’s first confirmed weightlifting medal at Glasgow 2026 is a silver for Rishikanta Singh Chanambam — and it came with a Commonwealth Games snatch record.
According to the official Games report, Rishikanta lifted 121 kg in the snatch, a new Games mark, and totalled 264 kg to take silver behind Malaysia’s Aniq Bin Kasdan. That is the part of India’s weekend that is indisputably logged.
Much else doing the rounds — a ‘Day 4’ haul headlined by a Mirabai Chanu gold, more podiums in the men’s categories, and boxing progress for multiple Indians — is not yet reflected in the official materials retrieved. The Games site’s own previews treated July 26 as Day 3 and had weightlifting only starting, with Chanu listed among those chasing gold. Until Glasgow 2026 posts the event sheets, the medals table and bout results carry the last word here, not a label on a circulating recap.
