The organising committee confirms men’s javelin is on the athletics programme; the detailed result sheet was not accessible on the official site at filing time.
Pathirage arrived in Glasgow as the form thrower — World Athletics lists his national record at 92.62m set on 4 June 2026. NDTV quoted Chopra after the final: “Only one good throw is enough. He had one good throw today, and I also had only one decent throw.”
For India, this is a podium with the Olympic champion on it, which should be simple enough to say without spin. Expect the usual back in Delhi anyway. Telangana’s athletes have won on quieter fields with less noise and more delivery; maybe bottle that and ship it north.
