Prime Focus has released “Jai Jai Ram”, the first song from its planned two-part Ramayana film project. The track is composed by A.R. Rahman, written by Dr. Kumar Vishwas and sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, according to Prime Focus’s announcement.
The official video is hosted by verified T-Series on YouTube. Platform dates put the release in mid-September: September 13 on YouTube and September 14 on Apple Music. Prime Focus published its announcement on September 15. The dates have at least been allowed to remain dates, rather than being promoted as a cinematic revolution.
Prime Focus describes the film as being made on an “unprecedented scale” and calls it a “highly anticipated” cinematic event. Those are studio descriptions; no budget, production metric, viewership figure or box-office evidence was provided. The song is available. The adjectives are still awaiting certification.
