Telangana’s election office has slated Grama and Ward Sabhas for August 27 to clean up voter rolls — BLOs to read out draft names, spot omissions, and take Forms 6, 7 and 8. The schedule comes via reported directions, not yet posted on an official page.

News, not a slogan: according to a report, Telangana’s election authorities planned Grama Sabhas in rural Grama Panchayat buildings and Ward Sabhas at urban polling stations on August 27 as part of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. The reported directions were issued by Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharsan Reddy on August 21. The primary document has not been published on the CEO site yet.
Per that report, Booth Level Officers are to read out names in the draft roll, identify eligible citizens left out, and take applications: Form 6 for new voters turning 18 by October 1, 2026, Form 8 for corrections, and Form 7 for objections to wrongful inclusions by electors in the same constituency, with a declaration. Officials were also told to document proceedings and preserve photographs in BLO registers.
Two notes a Telangana voter needs: venues differ — polling stations in towns, Grama Panchayat buildings in villages — and today is the day. What matters now is attendance, how many omissions were caught, and whether those BLO registers have more than a stapled selfie. The BJP-led Centre and the Congress where they run states love to sermonise about “clean rolls”; the proof is in how quickly these forms turn into actual entries, not in another lecture.
