Six teenagers were reported dead after a Ganesh idol immersion at Neruducherla lake in Pedda Kanjerla village, Sangareddy district, on September 16, according to a report published by Telangana Today. The report said the incident occurred under Patancheru police station limits and that the bodies were taken to the government hospital in Patancheru.
The report identified the deceased as Narasimha Raju, 18; Sumanth, 19; Ganesh, 20; Uday Kumar, 21; Sham Kumar, 18; and Siddharth, 16. It said nine students entered the water and three returned safely, and attributed the drownings to an unseen deep pit. Those details remain unconfirmed by an accessible police statement, FIR, hospital record or district administration release.
The report also said police registered a case and began an investigation.
