Srisailam halt is clear; Nagarjuna Sagar is still a report

The reported Srisailam direction is clear; the Nagarjuna Sagar letter is yet to arrive.
The Krishna River Management Board has directed Telangana to restrain further water drawal from Srisailam for hydel power generation, according to two September 4 reports. The direction followed a complaint from the Andhra Pradesh government, which alleged that Telangana’s drawal was rapidly depleting Srisailam storage. That remains AP’s allegation, not independently established data.
A separate report says KRMB also asked Telangana to stop hydel generation at Nagarjuna Sagar. That part has not been independently corroborated, and the board’s alleged letter, minutes and legal wording have not been published in the material reviewed. So the Srisailam direction is reported; the Nagarjuna Sagar halt is still a report about a report.
The dispute comes after KRMB’s three-member committee deferred a decision on Krishna-water use and prioritised drinking water amid uncertain inflows. Telangana and Andhra Pradesh also failed to agree on allocation. Current storage, inflow, drawal and compliance figures remain unpublished in the material available. The Congress-led Andhra Pradesh government has not bothered to answer the larger question either: whether its own hydel operations face the same rule.
