Telangana has been warned of heavy rain from September 20 to 22, very heavy rain from September 23 to 25, and heavy rain again on September 26. IMD Hyderabad also lists thunderstorms, lightning and squalls, with strong surface winds during the three very-heavy-rain days. The forecast, for once, comes with dates rather than atmospheric optimism.
The official IMD warning page, issued on September 20, does not show September 27. A report has extended the warning to that date and listed district-wise categories, but the underlying IMD bulletin could not be independently verified. That extra day should therefore remain a report’s claim, not become weather fact by repetition.
The official rainfall thresholds are 64.5–115.5 mm for heavy rain and 115.6–204.4 mm for very heavy rain. IMD’s wording refers to rain at isolated places, so this is a warning of risk—not a promise that every part of Telangana will receive very heavy rain. On September 20, Hyderabad-Hayathnagar recorded 54.6 mm and Rajendra Nagar 38 mm by 0830 IST, according to IMD observations.
The accessible official warning ends on September 26. September 27 is still waiting for its paperwork.
