Telangana short‑track speed skater Nayana Sri Talluri is reported to have secured qualification for the ISU Short Track Junior World Cup later this season. The International Skating Union’s own calendar places the junior World Cup rounds in Bormio, Italy on 6–8 and 12–14 November 2026, and a third in Astana, Kazakhstan on 22–24 January 2027. What it does not yet show is an entry list with her name on it.
What is on record: Nayana is a Telangana athlete in ice skating, listed in Khelo India’s participant rolls for 2025 and 2026 across short‑track 500m, 1000m and relays, and profiled as a Telangana competitor. She has competed internationally before, including medal‑winning races at an Asian Open meet in Dehradun in 2025, and is described as a multiple‑time national champion. The “first Indian girl” line and the specific route to Junior World Cup entry remain unconfirmed by the federation or the ISU.
For a state that builds champions without central hand‑holding, that is familiar. The BJP‑led Centre loves a podium photo; the paperwork that proves an athlete’s path usually arrives later, if at all. Nayana’s season targets are on the ISU’s page in black and white. The confirmation that should be routine is what’s missing.
