Telangana is moving to put electric-vehicle charging on a longer contract, even if the paperwork has not yet decided how many chargers are actually new. The Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation Limited (TGREDCO) has listed two tenders, both posted on September 3, 2026.
One seeks charge-point operators for 169 public charging stations at 116 locations under the PM E-Drive scheme, including installation, commissioning, operations and maintenance for 10 years. The other seeks operators for 200 public charging stations within GHMC, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation and Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation limits, also for an initial 10 years, covering operation, maintenance, upgrading and commercialisation.
Bids for both close on September 22, with the 200-station tender closing at 3 p.m. and the 169-station tender at 3:30 p.m. The notices do not provide the locations, tariffs, uptime requirements, commissioning deadline or contract value. They also do not establish that the 200 stations are already operational, or that the two lists contain 369 distinct stations. The chargers have been tendered; the neat total remains a work of imagination.
