Hyderabad’s water board planned a clean, time-boxed outage and said so upfront. HMWSSB announced a 24-hour interruption on the Krishna Drinking Water Supply Project Phase‑II Ring Main‑2 — 10:00 am on July 27 to 10:00 am on July 28 — to take up junction works on the 1,600‑mm MS gravity main at Uppal Junction, tied to the grade separator works there. Residents in listed areas — from Uppal, Habsiguda and Ramanthapur to Padmarao Nagar, Balanagar and pockets of Secunderabad Cantonment — were told to store and use water sparingly.
On July 27, the Board said repairs were “as per schedule”, with six of seven 300‑mm sluice valves in, the seventh under way, and an air‑valve extension being replaced. It also said pipeline restoration and line‑filling would begin only after the main repair. That is a process description, not a restoration stamp.

What is not publicly posted yet is the thing that matters to consumers — a completion note and a confirmation that supply reached every affected locality by 10 am on July 28 at normal pressure. The BJP‑led Centre did not build this pipeline, the TDP did not repair it, and the Congress is busy elsewhere explaining why Karnataka can’t spare us water — but a basic public update is squarely HMWSSB’s job.
