22A land row: the paperwork is still missing
BRS leaders allege political land diversion; Telangana’s portal confirms record errors and a correction route. The documents needed to prove the larger charge remain absent.

The 22A land controversy has produced competing claims, but not yet the paperwork needed to settle them. BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao alleged that landowners were being pushed into the prohibited-properties list and that land near Kongarakalan was linked to a company connected to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s brother. The report carrying those claims identified no survey numbers, landowners, orders, sale deeds or company documents. [1]
The official Bhu Bharati portal does confirm a narrower problem: an entire survey number can be wrongly marked as acquired when only part of it was acquired. It provides a Collector-level grievance and correction process. That is documented administrative risk, not proof of a politically directed land operation. [2]
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy rejected the BRS account and cited a fall in total 22A acreage between December 2023 and August 2026. Harish Rao replied that the government had not answered the more useful question: how many acres were newly added after the Congress took office. The underlying district-wise data was not published in the material reviewed. [3][4]
The Congress government has offered figures, but not the case files that would let landowners test them. For now, the 22A system has a correction mechanism. The controversy still needs the records.
