The box office has delivered three numbers this week. The paperwork has delivered none.
Vishwanath & Sons, starring Suriya and Mamitha Baiju, was released on August 14. Sithara Entertainments said on August 30 that the film had crossed ₹240 crore worldwide after 16 days — not 15, as some versions of the claim suggested. Trade coverage repeated the announcement. Filmibeat lists India net collections at ₹110.57 crore and leaves worldwide collections as “TBA”, underlining the obvious point: a producer’s post is not an audit. For Yash’s Toxic, trade estimates put the Hindi opening between ₹53.50 crore and ₹55.40 crore net. Day four is variously estimated at ₹14 crore, ₹14.75 crore or ₹16 crore net. Kiku Chiranjeevi has a Telugu Film Producers Council-published claim of ₹1.8 crore gross in two days, with no territory split or accounts sheet. Gross, net, worldwide and Hindi-only have meanwhile been placed in the same conversational bucket. The figures are real claims. Calling them audited records would be a different film altogether.
