₹5 lakh trap, two officers, one station
The Telangana ACB says a Keesara SI allegedly accepted the money on his SHO’s instructions, in exchange for station bail and an end to harassment.
The ACB says two Keesara police officers were arrested in an alleged ₹5 lakh station-bail case.
The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau says Keesara Sub-Inspector Dyapa Gnanender Reddy was allegedly caught accepting ₹5 lakh on September 16. The money was allegedly sought to secure station bail for a complainant and his friend, and to stop further harassment in a case registered at Keesara police station. The amount was recovered from the SI, according to the ACB account reported by multiple publications.
The ACB also named Keesara Inspector and SHO Arkapally Anjaneyulu, alleging that the SI acted on his instructions. Both officers were arrested and produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases at Nampally for judicial remand. The case remains under investigation, so the allegations are not findings of guilt.
Some locals reportedly burst crackers outside the station after news of the arrests. The Malkajgiri Commissionerate, Telangana Police and the two officers have not publicly responded in the material reviewed. The paperwork is still investigating what the station apparently had already priced.
