₹500 ticket, ₹1 crore fog: Paradise approval needs receipts

Telangana reportedly permitted a ₹500 special show for The Paradise at 6:30 p.m. on September 23, ahead of its scheduled September 24 release. The reported approval also allowed enhanced prices from September 24 to October 3: ₹48 extra at single screens and ₹95 at multiplexes until September 27, followed by ₹23 and ₹45 respectively. The increases could apply to up to five shows a day. The paperwork, as reported, is impressively specific. The accounting is less so.
Reports identify Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas LLP as the applicant and say it was directed to contribute to a welfare account operated by the Telangana Film Development Corporation. But the amount is disputed in the reporting: several reports say ₹1 crore, while others say ₹1 lakh. The original government memo has not been independently obtained, and there is no evidence here that any contribution has been paid. Promotional claims about demand or box-office prospects are not evidence either; a permitted price is not a sold ticket.
The Telangana High Court has also questioned the last-minute approval and the absence of recorded reasons for the hike, according to a published report. The research does not establish whether the permission remained operative after that hearing or whether any interim order changed the shows or prices. The government has issued a number in the reports. It has not yet issued the receipt that would settle the rest.
