Nani’s The Paradise reportedly received permission for a ₹500 special show in Telangana on September 23, one day before its theatrical release. The show was scheduled for 6:30 p.m., with GST included, according to reports citing Home Department Memo No. 21/HOME-GEN2/2026, dated September 20. The memo itself was not available for independent inspection.
The reported approval also allowed enhanced rates for up to five shows a day: an additional ₹48 in single screens and ₹95 in multiplexes from September 24 to 27, followed by ₹23 and ₹45 respectively from September 28 to October 3. Theatres were also directed to screen awareness messages on drugs and cybercrime. A ticket hike, plus civic education before the trailers. Cinema administration has found a syllabus.
The Telangana High Court has questioned why the approval arrived so close to the show and release, and why the memo reportedly recorded no reasons for the increase. The court said the timing left little opportunity to challenge it, and posted the matter for October 6 while seeking the government’s counter-affidavit. It did not cancel the permission in the reported proceedings.
Reports also disagree on a welfare contribution: ₹1 lakh in one account and ₹1 crore in others. Until the memo appears, that is not a number; it is a disagreement wearing official clothing.
