7,340 flats, one lottery, several start dates

The Telangana Housing Board’s CURE-area draw is under way, but the public record is less tidy than the housing plan.

A cartoon lottery drum marked “7,340 FLATS” spills date slips and conflicting number sheets beside a cluttered government desk, while partly finished apartment blocks stand in the background.

The Telangana Housing Board’s CURE-area lottery is under way amid differing dates and application figures.

The Telangana Housing Board’s lottery for 7,340 Indiramma Indlu flats in Hyderabad’s CURE area is under way, according to reports published on August 28. The Board’s website records the July 20 demand notification, an application deadline of August 10 and an application-status page published on August 20. It also says the lottery will be streamed live on YouTube. (Telangana Housing Board)

The calendar, however, has already acquired its own housing policy. Reports differ on whether the draw began on August 27 or August 28. The 7,340-flat figure and coverage of 16 constituencies are corroborated, while the reported 60,720 applications, ₹5 lakh subsidy, ₹6 lakh beneficiary contribution and 528 sq ft built-up area are not visible in the accessible primary record. Other reports put applications at 60,014, 40,900 and 35,125. (Telangana Tribune)

The Housing Board has not publicly established how many flats are complete or ready for occupation. A reported plan to finish and hand them over within a year remains a target, not a handover date. The lottery is running; the paperwork is still drawing its own numbers.
