K Kavitha has alleged that BRS leader T Harish Rao held meetings with Medak MLAs to consolidate his position and prevent K T Rama Rao from carrying forward K Chandrashekar Rao’s political legacy. She also alleged that Harish Rao cultivated understandings with BJP leaders and influential figures in the Congress government, including a secret meeting in London.
Those are serious allegations. They are still allegations. The material reviewed contains no named witness, meeting record, recording, travel detail or documentary evidence confirming the meetings or any political arrangement. Kavitha said she had information from an MLA who attended one alleged meeting, but that MLA has not been identified. Her demand that the government order an investigation is a demand for verification, not verification itself.
Harish Rao, the BRS, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s government and the BJP figures referred to have not publicly responded to the substance of these allegations in the material reviewed. Harish Rao was separately reported criticising the Congress government and praising the previous BRS government on August 27. The alleged London pact remains better travelled in political speech than in evidence.
