August 28 had four releases. The calendar blinked

Irumudi opened on August 21, Bhogi was postponed for VFX work, and three other August 28 listings remain unconfirmed.

A Hyderabad cinema foyer cartoon shows an oversized August 28 calendar square crowded with four blank film tickets, conflicting calendars on a desk, and a small VFX construction set behind a barrier.

Late-August release dates proved easier to announce than to confirm.

Late-August Telugu release calendars promised a crowded August 28. The industry, sensibly, did not promise to honour the calendar.

Irumudi, starring Ravi Teja and directed by Shiva Nirvana, released on August 21, according to TeluguCinema and a production-house statement reproduced by IANS. It was entering its second weekend by August 30. Trade reports claimed the film regained theatres after Toxic’s release, but theatre-level allocation data is not public, so the screen-recovery story remains a claim rather than a record.

Bhogi, which had been scheduled for August 28, was postponed before release. Its makers cited unfinished VFX work, saying more time was needed for the period world and action sequences. No replacement date was found in the consulted material.

Filmibeat’s August calendar also listed Kiku Chiranjeevi, Thella Kagitham and Samavarthi for August 28. None could be confirmed from a primary release announcement. Thella Kagitham’s separate listing gives October 16, while another Filmibeat page still carries August 28. The calendar has, at least, released one film: confusion.
