Bay depression brings Telangana two serious rain days
IMD forecasts extremely heavy rain in eight districts on September 23 and 24, with thunderstorms, lightning and winds of up to 60 kmph.

Telangana has two serious rain days ahead, according to the India Meteorological Department. The strongest warning is for September 23 and 24, when isolated parts of eight districts — Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Hanamkonda — may receive very heavy to extremely heavy rain.
The IMD’s Meteorological Centre, Hyderabad, has also forecast thunderstorms, lightning and winds of 50–60 kmph in parts of the state. In IMD terms, “extremely heavy” means at least 204.5 mm of rain. The forecast also covers very heavy rain on September 22 and 25–26.
The weather system is a depression over the west-central and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal. The IMD expects it to intensify into a deep depression and cross the north Andhra Pradesh–south Odisha coast between Visakhapatnam and Gopalpur from the night of September 23 into the early hours of September 24. The forecast is specific. The “next two days” shorthand was not.
