The 155-donor claim has met the Jeevandan spreadsheet

A published report says a Hyderabad donation helped three patients. Jeevandan’s available official figures do not yet confirm the case or the claimed 2026 total.

A quiet hospital records desk with a closed organ-donation file, a consent form, an official-looking spreadsheet and a separate paper marked 155 awaiting verification.

The reported total is not yet matched by the available Jeevandan figures.

A published report says 43-year-old Gatla Venkateshwar Reddy’s two kidneys and liver were donated after he was declared brain dead in Hyderabad, helping three patients. It says his wife, Gatla Swarna, consented to the donation after a September 28 road accident.

The report also says the donation took Telangana’s 2026 Jeevandan brain-dead donation total to 155. That figure is not confirmed by the official Jeevandan statistics currently available: its pages list 16 donations in 2026, alongside 19 kidneys, 14 livers and 61 organs retrieved. Those pages were last updated on February 16, 2026, so they are incomplete for October—but they still do not establish 155.

Jeevandan’s official guidance says organ retrieval requires brain-death certification and consent from the next of kin. It does not, however, provide a case-specific confirmation here. The treating hospital, retrieval centre, transplant hospitals and police case details remain unnamed. The 155 figure, for now, has a report behind it and a government website that has not caught up—or backed it up.
