Families of two women were reported to have donated eight organs through Telangana’s Jeevandan programme, offering a possible lifeline to patients awaiting transplants. The account was published by Telangana Today on September 27, with separate coverage corroborating the reported donation of entrepreneur Madugula Deepthi Reddy’s heart, liver and both kidneys.
The report identified the second donor as Sharada Neerudi, 43, from Ghatkesar. It said her family donated both kidneys, liver and lungs, while Deepthi Reddy’s family donated four organs. The reports attributed the decisions to their husbands, identified as Pradeep Reddy and Narsing Rao respectively. Recipient identities were not disclosed.
Jeevandan’s official website describes it as Telangana’s cadaver-transplantation programme, responsible for coordinating deceased-organ donation and allocation. It does not, in the material located, publish a case-specific bulletin confirming these donations.
