A Sarapaka ESI facility was reportedly locked on September 25 over alleged unpaid rent, leaving patients outside before the premises were reopened the same day. The incident was reported from the industrial area of Burgampahad mandal in Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
The report said the building owner alleged that rent had not been cleared for 15 months, dating from July 2025. It did not name the owner, disclose the rent amount, or publish a lease, demand notice or payment record. It said an ESI official assured the landlord that the outstanding amount would be paid soon. Whether any payment was actually made is not established.
An ESIC document does list an ESI dispensary at Sarapaka village, though it uses the former Khammam district designation. The facility is described in the report as serving ITC PSPD contract workers and their families, but that connection was not independently verified. ESIC’s own document calls it a dispensary; the current report calls it a hospital. Even the building’s paperwork appears to have better continuity than the terminology.
The rent dispute, lockout and reopening currently rest on a single report. ESIC has not published a primary statement or payment record in the material reviewed.
