BJP finds a scam, misplaces the land list

Telangana’s Section 22-A mess is real. The BJP’s “lakhs of crores” scam figure is not yet a fact; it is an allegation looking for a land list.
BJP Legislature Party leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy announced protests after private properties were allegedly placed on the prohibited list. The party held a dharna at Indira Park on September 5 and demanded a judicial inquiry and a white paper. BJP state president N Ramchander Rao also claimed nearly 50 lakh people were affected. Neither figure is backed in the available record by parcel lists, acreage, valuation data or an official investigation.
What is documented is narrower and more serious: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy acknowledged errors, apologised to affected owners and announced a committee. The Bhu Bharati portal says an entire survey number can be marked acquired when only part of it was acquired. The Telangana government has a land-record problem. The BJP has a slogan with the supporting spreadsheet still missing.
A proper white paper should publish the survey numbers, acreage, correction orders, complaints and the calculation behind “lakhs of crores”. Until then, the BJP’s biggest missing plot is the land itself.
