BJP finds ‘lakhs of crores’ before finding the land
The Section 22-A dispute is real. The BJP’s spectacular valuation is still waiting for a land list, an acreage figure and some arithmetic.

The Telangana BJP has accused the Congress government of a Section 22-A land scam worth “lakhs of crores”. It has not, so far, published the land-wise list, total acreage, valuation method or beneficiary details needed to support that number. The figure remains Alleti Maheshwar Reddy’s allegation, not an established finding. [1]
The underlying administrative mess is not imaginary. Reports say private properties were wrongly included in the prohibited-properties list, entire survey numbers were blocked in some cases, and more than 750 applications were pending for removal. The Telangana High Court has sought the government’s response in one case and granted interim relief concerning specific lands in Shamshabad. Those proceedings establish disputes, not a statewide scam. [2][3][4]
Section 22-A allows registration to be refused for specified documents or classes of documents notified as opposed to public policy. It does not, by itself, prove illegal transfers, official profiteering or a land value of several lakh crore. The state portal provides searchable prohibited-land and valuation records. The BJP has announced protests at Indira Park on September 5 and 6 and demanded a white paper. Before the slogans become spreadsheets, it could publish the survey numbers.
