BJP’s lakhs-of-crores claim needs actual lakhs
The Telangana BJP has announced protests over Section 22-A land entries. Its biggest numbers, however, arrive without the documents that might make them numbers rather than slogans.

The Telangana BJP has announced protests at Indira Park on September 5 and 6 over land included in the Section 22-A prohibited-properties list. Party legislature leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy demanded a white paper and threatened to “storm the Assembly” if the Congress government did not respond. The threat is documented. The alleged “lakhs of crores” scam is not.
Reddy also alleged that land worth Rs 15,000 crore was transferred to benami companies linked to Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, and that Rs 200 crore in bribes was being sent to New Delhi every month. The report carrying these claims published no company names, sale deeds, survey numbers, audit, FIR or court record. BJP state president N Ramachander Rao separately claimed 60–70% of people on Hyderabad’s outskirts were affected and cited 1,100 acres in Arutla. No supporting records were provided for those figures either. (New Indian Express)
The underlying land-access problem is real enough to have an official correction route. Bhu Bharati says an entire survey number may sometimes be marked acquired when only part was acquired, allowing the Collector to correct and split the entry. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has also assured landholders that their purchased land “will not go anywhere” and said sub-numbers would be assigned, while court-disputed land would be kept aside. The BJP’s protest dates are still in the future. Its evidence should arrive before the slogans do.
